o:p> Health utilization following Adenotonsillect=
omy We are in the development stages=
of a collaborative effort to research the healthcare utilization of childr=
en following adenotonsillectomy. Simply put, we will look at how their need and subsequent use of the ge=
neral health care system is used before and after surgery. This can be researched by tracking children w=
ho have undergone T & A either retrospectively or prospectively and loo=
king at their healthcare utilization, such as primary care provider visits,=
ED visits, hospitalizations, and medication use before and after the surge=
ry. There have been oth=
er studies that have demonstrated that children who undergo adenotonsillect=
omy have a much decreased need for healthcare services following their surg=
ery.
